St. Gallen, January 20, 2025 – The Gallus Group, a subsidiary of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (HEIDELBERG), reports that 2024 was a decisive year for the company. Its latest innovations will enable label printers to achieve significant efficiency gains and thus increase their profitability. With the introduction of new technologies such as the modular "System-to-Compose" for the Gallus One and the Gallus MatteJet technology, which makes digital printing accessible to the wine and spirits market, Gallus continues to lead the industry into an intelligent, connected, and successful future.

Fast success and record ROI

With further developments in the pipeline and its sights set on 2025, Gallus and HEIDELBERG are today presenting details of two recent installations of the Gallus One, which are part of a successful financial year. Both Flexon in the Czech Republic and Yeloprint in Hungary have achieved significant success in just a few months after installation, demonstrating the potential of their printing presses to quickly achieve profitability and break even. "We are delighted to report on the successes of two Gallus One customers in digital label printing: two impressive examples of how our continuous innovation efforts in this strategic growth segment are delivering transformative solutions for the market and having a tangible impact in practice," comments Dario Urbinati, CEO of the Gallus Group. "Flexon and Yeloprint are dynamic and successful companies, and we look forward to supporting their activities in the coming months and years."

A new benchmark: the lowest TCO for digital label production

Flexon and Yeloprint are the latest customers to report their successes with the Gallus One. They join a growing list of satisfied customers and successful installations since the machine was launched in 2022. At the beginning of last year, PrintFlex (US) reported how the Gallus One had reduced production costs. According to CEO Liz Pecha-Poelker, the team is "thrilled" with the investment, which offers them "the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) for digital label production."

With an existing Gallus Labelfire 340 and positive experience with Gallus customer service, Flexon, based in Vestec, Czech Republic, installed the Gallus One in November 2024. The company printed a number of jobs during the operator's training period and says it is that it has installed the new state-of-the-art digital label press—which the company has equipped with a flexographic printing unit and a semi-rotary die-cutting unit—to speed up job changeover times for smaller label runs.

Optimization of production and increase in profitability

Martin Chaluš, owner of Flexon, comments: "In view of ever smaller orders and frequent changes to print templates, digital printing is becoming increasingly important, which is why we considered installing another digital label printing machine. The important thing is that, thanks to the tailor-made solution, we now have a finished label that 'falls' out of the printing press and only needs to be cut, which saves us time, streamlines production, and increases profitability. If someone had told me earlier that I would have two high-performance digital printing presses by 2024, I wouldn't have believed them. But today it's clear that intelligent, connected printing is the key. If you want to survive in the market, you need the right combination of digital and conventional technologies; it's just a question of balance."
