St. Gallen, May 28, 2024 – The Gallus Group, a subsidiary of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (HEIDELBERG), is presenting its new concept today at drupa 2024: the “System to Compose.” Gallus' new concept addresses current and changing market needs and offers label printers a lifeline that opens up a wide range of new possibilities for their portfolios. Thanks to the extended compatibility between the technologies of Gallus' leading product lines, additional units can now be seamlessly added, removed or exchanged, similar to instruments within an ensemble – allowing label printers to compose their own "masterpieces."
Gallus One now also available with a printing width of 430 mm
In addition, the Gallus One, which was previously limited to a printing width of 340 mm, is now also available with a printing width of 430 mm, which increases production efficiency and versatility and opens up new application possibilities and profitable sales opportunities. Gallus also announced the expansion of the machine's color gamut—the orange and violet colors developed in collaboration with HEIDELBERG are now also available for the Gallus One, helping converters stand out from the competition on the store shelf.
Concept gives downstream processors back control
The Gallus One, which was developed to reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO) in roll-to-roll digital label production through maximum automation and cloud-based technologies, now enables the complete integration of the proven Gallus Labelmaster modules. By integrating upstream and downstream flexographic and screen printing units, cold and hot foil stamping, embossing and gravure printing, as well as a die-cutting unit, the Gallus One offers a high degree of modularity, speed, and quality, which further reduces total cost of ownership and increases profitability. Gallus' new plug-and-play approach gives print shops and converters back full control. They benefit from greater flexibility in putting together their solutions, can add functions or change direction as required to improve their competitiveness and respond to market changes in real time.
Dario Urbinati, Gallus Group, CEO, says: “We are delighted to be presenting our new concept at drupa 2024 and expanding our range of ‘tools’ for the Gallus One. Since its market debut last year, the Gallus One and our strong focus on reducing TCO have clearly captured the imagination of the industry, resulting in a very strong sales pipeline with installations planned through 2024. With our new concept and the expansion options for the Gallus One, our customers can expand and adapt their solutions as needed, enabling them to make changes in line with customer requirements and future-proof their investments."
Proven solutions, new possibilities
The Gallus One, which supports intelligent, networked printing, represents a significant advance for the label industry. With this new concept, print shops can not only combine units or expand their configuration over time, but also retrofit existing machine systems. This allows owners of conventional Gallus Labelmaster 340 / 440 printing presses to add a digital printing unit and obtain a customized hybrid Gallus One without having to invest in a completely new machine.
"Although the Gallus One boasts a range of impressive technical features, its versatility is arguably its most impressive advantage in a rapidly changing market. At a time when the industry is facing numerous challenges, it will undoubtedly continue to prove itself as a key success factor and game changer for label printers around the world," says Urbinati.
