The heavily populated countries of Asia are providing millions of new consumers, which also promotes growth in the packaging economy. As a part of the packaging industry, the label industry is also benefiting from this trend. Product decoration – i.e. the label – is considered more important for wine bottles than for virtually any other product. Until the 1950s, labels in most cases simply provided product information, but now their creativity knows no bounds. More than ever, wine labels are justifiably considered works of art in their own right. However, highly practical aspects also need to be taken into account when producing such “masterpieces”, including the costs per label. For more than 50 years, the T-Series from Gallus has enabled the cost-efficient manufacture of high-finish wine and spirits labels. Over the past two years, the RAKO GROUP has invested in not one but three new Gallus EM 430 S presses. First came the machine for the newly founded RAKO Labels Cape Town in South Africa, which was taken into service at the beginning of 2011. It is founding additional sales and service organisations, such as the regional Gallus sales and service centre in Singapore that opened its doors on 1 September 2011. After completing his four-year mechanic's apprenticeship at Gallus, Roland Greutmann remained with the company. He gained solid experience in a number of departments, including the Gallus agency in London.
