InfoLabel Orders First US-Bound Gallus Labelfire 340 Press

St. Gallen Switzerland, September 16, 2016 – Gallus Group Vice President of Marketing and Sales, Christof Naier, is pleased to report that InfoLabel of Clifton Park NY has signed a contract for the first new Gallus Labelfire 340 digital label printing press destined for a U.S. customer. Mark Dufort, president of InfoLabel, previewed the press at the Heidelberg Digital Forum in June 2015, and subsequently at the Gallus plant in St. Gallen Switzerland.

According to Mark, “Our investment in the Gallus Labelfire 340 will allow us to provide our customers with exceptional quality, shorter lead times, and lower costs.”

“The first thing that caught my attention,” continued Mark, “was the run speeds – three times faster than my existing digital presses, and no click charges! Also, the Gallus Labelfire 340 easily handles 8 colors instead of 7, giving me a lot of flexibility.”

But the most impressive factor for Mark was that the Gallus Labelfire 340 is a total inline solution, from file download to finished labels. It handles digital, flexo, cold foil, rotary screen, die-cutting – from start to finish all on a single machine. No more moving reels to a finishing line; no expensive secondary equipment; no additional high labor costs; and much lower material waste. “Plus,” added Mark, “Gallus Labelfire 340 can print flexo white or digital white depending on label design needs, with no slowdown of press speeds.”

After an impressive live demo on nearly a dozen of his files at Gallus headquarters in St. Gallen in May 2016 and understanding how a total inline solution would eliminate converting equipment costs and additional labor and waste, Mark was convinced that the Gallus Labelfire 340 made sense for his business. A little over one week after the demo, and on the eve of drupa, Mark signed a contract for delivery in Q4/ 2016 , making InfoLabel the first Gallus Labelfire 340 installation in North America.

“When it comes to meeting the needs of our customers and target markets,” concluded Mark, “InfoLabel has always tried to stay in front with sound investments in printing and finishing equipment. Our investments in digital printing began almost eight years ago, and with the latest investment in the Gallus Labelfire 340, we are confident in our ability to strengthen our product offering.”
