ScreenPrinting: ProcessToRotaryScreen

Prepress Screeny Digital

Screeny Digital - imaging by ablation

Thanks to the use of an LAMS layer, Screeny Digital can be imaged in the printer’s existing digital flexographic workflow, for example, using the CDI from Esko Graphics. This type of equipment enables the CtP workflow to be extended beyond flexographic printing to screen printing. No additional investment in new equipment is necessary. An analogue film is no longer required.

Job data, handled using digital workflow software.

The film is no longer necessary.

The Screeny printing
plate is cut to the required size and punched with register holes. The foil is removed.

Imaging Screeny Digital imaging using CDI.

Exposure, vacuum no longer necessary.

The photopolymer is
developed with water
that is free from chemi-
cal additives.

Brief drying with hot
air before continuing
with further steps.

The printing plates are mounted by welding the ends.

Attachment of the
stencil rings produces
a stable printing
cylinder.
