  •  Gallus ECS 340 Road Show Opens In Atlanta

Gallus opened its US Road Show with a stop in Atlanta, Georgia following its introduction at Labelexpo in Chicago. The Road Show is designed to introduce the Gallus ECS 340 label printing press to the North American marketplace, one stop at a time. The Atlanta destination was chosen because of particular interest from several potential customers who saw what they liked at Labelexpo and wanted to spend more time learning about its unique advantages.

Everything about the Gallus ECS 340 is designed to help label printers save money without compromising printing quality. The Gallus ECS 340 is an affordable flexographic press with a technical granite core and it features easy setup and a very short web path for cost-efficient, high quality commercial label printing.
The Gallus ECS 340 has individual servo drives, effortless registration and frontloading sleeve systems to dramatically cut labor and material waste. In addition, the technical granite core, along with an integral water cooling system, gives the press a long service life and makes it quieter and more stable than any other press in its class.

  • Rotakett the first Scandinavian label print shop to invest in a Gallus RCS 330

Rotakett AB is the first Scandinavian label print shop to purchase a Gallus RCS 330. The press will be installed and commissioned in Helsingborg (Sweden) at the turn of the year 2010. The modular inline press with direct drive technology will significantly boost the print shop's productivity.

“The Gallus RCS 330 has a larger web width, delivers shorter setup and production times, boasts both longitudinal and cross registers, and offers much greater flexibility,” says Jim Bågesjö, Sales and Marketing Manager at Rotakett. The Gallus RCS 330 is designed for combination printing. In Rotakett's case, this means UV flexographic and screen printing. With direct servo drives for all key settings and a web width of 330 mm, the press combines hot-foil embossing, cold-foil printing, die-cutting, varnishing and lamination in a single pass. Rotakett is making this significant investment to be the best in northern Europe when it comes to efficient, high-tech label printing.

  • Ral Print buys first Gallus ECS 340 in Brazil

Ral Print Etiquetas e Rótulos Adesivos based in Sumaré in the state of São Paolo is the first Brazilian labelprinting company to have a Gallus ECS 340 flexographic printing press, made by the Swiss company Gallus. The machine, which has a granite base, was introduced to the market at Labelexpo Europe in 2009. The solidity of the granite creates fewer vibrations in the press than a normal steel base and it is immune to thermal activity as it does not expand or contract. It therefore operates silently and with a high level of stability.

Ral Print and Gallus signed an agreement during Labelexpo Americas 2010 in Chicago (USA). Ral Print CEO Ronaldo Luiz de Alencar is looking forward to improving the capabilities of flexographic printing of his 11-year-old company: “The Gallus ECS 340 allows us virtually any combination of inks, adhesives, coatings and substrates, with minimal set-up and changeover times without the use of tools.”

At the trade fair, the press was unveiled in operation on a converted truck trailer – and will now spend the forthcoming months touring the U.S. The press will be transported to various customers and interested parties, carrying out print jobs for companies on-site and demonstrating just what this efficient press concept can achieve. The road show is planned to begin in late October, starting in New England, then working its way down the Atlantic coast, then turning west across the southern states and on to California and the Northwest states by the end of the year.

LE USA

Complete with truck and trailer, the Gallus ECS 340 is ready for the US road show.

In addition to the launch of the North American road show, Gallus also enjoyed success at Labelexpo Americas 2010 with the American debut of the Gallus ECS 340. A whole host of visitors made their way to the Gallus stand over the course of the three days. Gallus is delighted by the high level of interest and, in particular, by the many positive responses to the company's latest development.

  • Open house shows first Latin American installation of Gallus ECS 340

The company C5 Design hosted an open house at its facility in Tultitlán on the outskirts of Mexico City on the day after the Label Summit Latin America in May 2010. Around 40 people saw demonstrations of the Gallus ECS 340 granite press, the first installation of the machine in Latin America.

The installation of the Gallus ECS 340, says general director Jorge Gonzalez, coupled with in-house design and pre-press departments, will help the company to turn a job around in just eight hours from label design, plate-making and the printing of the job. The speed of the press is a key element of this. “The machine also helps us to produce products that we previously were not able to, such as fragrance varnishes which are applied on the press.” Read the full press release...

  • From the Gallus stand at Labelexpo, the new Gallus ECS 340 went straight into production at bsb-label

For bsb-label, the new Gallus ECS 340 came onto the market at just the right time. The company had already spent some time searching for the right press to help it gain a foothold in the flexographic printing sector. For shareholder and Managing Director Brigitte Alers, a key criterion in comparing possible alternatives was that the total investment in a new press complete with cutting-edge technology should ultimately only be marginally higher than that involved in purchasing a remarketed model. In order to fulfil bsb-label's core requirements, a remarketed model would have had to be retrofitted with a number of new parts.

Looking back, Brigitte Alers is pleased that they opted for flexographic printing and for the Gallus ECS 340: “For bsb-label, this was definitely the right press at the right time.” More...
