Mandruzzato uses Gallus to produce its wine labels
A new Gallus TCS 250 was recently taken into service at Tipografia Mandruzzato in Vò in the Italian province of Padua. This is already the second press of its type for the company and its partners Claudio Mandruzzato and Adriano, Luca and Marco Galante. The company, which was founded in 1983 and has a workforce of 15, mostly works for customers from the local region. The new investment will enable it to meet all its customers' requirements even more effectively.

St. Gallen, October 2014 – More than 700 visitors came from all over the world to attend “Gallus Innovation Days 2014”, which was held for the first time at the Gallus Ferd. Rüesch AG headquarters in St. Gallen, Switzerland, from 23 until 25 September. The main focus of the three-day event was the world premiere of a new generation digital printing press for labels. Other innovations in 2014 included additions to the Gallus machinery and service portfolio, the printing accessories program, and the Gallus Screeny screen printing program.

During a world premiere, a pre-series model of the digital printing system will be presented to the industry for the first time. Gallus DCS 340 (Digital Converting System) is the designation of the new digital inline label printing system, which has been developed in cooperation with Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG and Fujifilm and will set new standards in digital label production.

At Labelexpo Europe, Gallus was showcasing a practical combination of digital and conventional printing methods in the production environment with its Gallus Print Shop concept. For the first time ever, the benefits of digital and conventional manufacturing processes combined to save time and money in label production. The Gallus Print Shop at Labelexpo included the new Gallus ECS 340 with “Plus” update package, a highly flexible near-line solution comprising the Linoprint L digital printing system from Heidelberg and further processing on the Gallus ECS C for efficient, cost-saving digital label production, and the Gallus EM 430 S with short web concept. All order planning and processing for the three machine systems was linked and controlled by central CERM MIS workflow software. In cooperation with its industrial partner Siegwerk, Gallus was also demonstrating the benefits of LED UV curing technology on the Gallus EM 280 and producing labels live using the latest UV LED inks from Siegwerk.
Labelexpo 2013 – Gallus exhibits digital print solution for short and variable runs
Gallus will be presenting the Linoprint L drop-on-demand system from Heidelberg at Labelexpo, which will be held in Brussels from 24-27 September, 2013. This will be the first time that Gallus has exhibited the technology at a trade show since it acquired the sales licence in June 2013. Two of the digital printing systems in different working widths will be given the task of producing challenging variable short runs at the Gallus stand, 5B50. While the 210 mm system and the Gallus ECS C will be integrated into the Gallus Print Shop for hybrid label production, the 315 mm system will give visitors an insight into the higher print quality made possible by the new digital front end.

Gallus adds digital printing solutions from Heidelberg to its portfolio for label printers

Kimoha celebrates its 25th birthday with a Gallus ECS 340 flexo press
The installation of a Gallus ECS 340, often known as the ‘granite press’, at Kimoha Entrepreneurs Ltd in the Jebel Ali Free Zone, south of Dubai, brings to 23 the number of Gallus narrow web label presses installed in the Middle East, where the Swiss manufacturer is represented by Heidelberg ME. Parkers future-proof production capability with Gallus EM 430 S Lines
T.W. Parkers, a self-adhesive label and packaging converter, and the UK’s leading supplier of ‘post-mold’ labelling, has installed two Gallus EM 430 S lines at its plant in Bootle on Merseyside to boost efficiency and broaden the scope of its production capability. Over three days at Labelexpo Americas in Chicago, Gallus joined forces with Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) to demonstrate efficient integration of multiple printing technologies in a hybrid print shop environment to improve the success of its label printing customers. According to the live demonstrations, the ideal shop consists of high performance flexographic presses for short, medium and long runs, plus digital equipment for very short runs and variable imaging projects, and converting systems positioned either in-line or offline depending on the type of job being run. Each job is controlled by a management information system (MIS) that defines its path, then reports its performance at the end of the run.
